At October 20th 2010 the international workshop on „The European project REMOTE – tele-healthcare as part of a holistic strategie in the health sector and nursing management” was jointly organised by Netscouts and the Nürnberger Initiative für die Kommunikationswirtschaft, NIK e.V., (Nuremberg association for the communications technology) and took place at the Nuremberg economy town hall. It aimed to inform interested persons affected as well as nursing and medical staff about the latest developments in the field of tele-healthcare and telemedicine. Moreover, the workshop served to integrate the experience of ambulant nursing services and representatives of social and health-care institutions into the developments of the project.

Prof. Nikos Maglaveras of CERTH (Centre for Research and Technology Hellas) gave an overview of the latest developments in the area of telemedicine and the REMOTE project.
Petra Schaller gives a speech The Nuremberg integration company Netscouts has carried out a user needs survey over more than six months interviewing elderly and disabled people, family carers, nursing and care staff and stakeholders. The result was that the majority of the people affected are not familiar with the opportunities of telemedicine. First of all they expect improvements in the areas of holistic healthcare and medication to gain a feeling of security. Now Petra Schaller, member of the Netscouts team, presented the results of the user needs survey at an international workshop of the European project REMOTE. You can find the presentation at International Workshop 20-10-10 Netscouts.
