1st Workshop-FLORENCE
The EC funded project REMOTE organized a 1st Workshop was held in Florence, Italy on 3 of November 2009. MEDEA the Italian partner of REMOTE project organised the event.

The discussion focused on the optimal dissemination of the REMOTE project and the current opportunities. The Workshop has been aimed at medical scientists and stakeholders such as medical devices and sensors industries, medical experts and public organizations for elderly people.
The main objective of the REMOTE project is to define and establish a multidisciplinary and integrated approach to Research & Development (R&D) of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) for addressing, in real life contexts, identified needs of frail elderly, especially of citizens at risk due to geographic and social isolation in combination with chronic conditions.
REMOTE planned to gather in a workshop experts with experience in telemedicine practices integrating their experiences through a Workshop.
Scientists, medical industry took part into the workshop activities. The Workshop discussion was useful to define the chronic diseases that REMOTE aims to confront, how the integrated technologies can be used in REMOTE project and then followed a Round Table discussion on the REMOTE Use Cases. A number of questions arose by the audience, and the Consortium tried to find some possible answers.
